India-bound Nissan Kicks' design sketches released
NEW DELHI: Japanese automaker Nissan has released the first sketches of the India model of its compact sports utility vehicle (SUV) Kicks.
The sketches reveal edgy design lines of the crossover model which is expected to be launched in India early-2019. The car gets an SUV-like design with the new 'V-motion grille' which is a signature motif in Nissan’s new global design language.
The Kicks will be the first of the many new products that the company has announced to launch in the country under its new market strategy for the next few years.

Already available in the international market, the global model of the Nissan Kicks is based on the very compact V-platform. However, the Indian-spec version will be based on the larger B0 platform that also underpins the Nissan Terrano as well as Renault Duster and Capture. It means the all-new Kicks will offer better space for its five-seater configuration.

The model is likely to get the same 1.5-litre diesel and petrol engines which power the Renault Capture. The standard transmission option will be a six-speed manual gearbox and the company might also offer an automatic transmission option in select variants.
Once launched, the Nissan Kicks will directly compete with the likes of the Hyundai Creta.
