NEW DELHI:
Arun Jaitley will return to the finance ministry on Thursday after being away for over three months due to a kidney surgery.
“The President of India, as advised by the Prime Minister, has directed to assign the portfolios of the Minister of Finance and Minister of Corporate Affairs to Arun Jaitley,” an official statement said.
Jaitley is expected to take charge around 11 am on Thursday and will be in charge of the crucial portfolio at a time when the government is looking at ways to battle any adverse fallout of the weakening
rupee.

Piyush Goyal had been handling the finance portfolio.
