Gujarat govt allocates Rs 3 crore for development of Veer Meghmaya Memorial

GANDHINAGAR: Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has sanctioned allocation of Rs 3 crore development fund for the Veer Meghmaya Memorial. Veer Meghmaya was a famous saint from the schedule caste, who gave his life for the welfare of people.
Referring to this, chief minister stated that the saints from all sections of society had made contributions for brightening up our glorious history and culture. Keeping that tradition alive, Veer Meghmaya of a Dalit family had created this saga of abstinence and sacrifice for betterment of all sections of the society.

Rupani was responding to the honour awarded to him and Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel by various castes of the Dalit society for allocation of a fund of Rs 3 crore by the state government for development of Veer Meghmaya Memorial in Gandhinagar.
Those present on the occasion included Member of Parliament Dr Kirit Solanki, former assembly speaker Ramanbhai Vora, former MP Ratilal Verma, leader Zaverbhai Chavda and others.
