Hi-tech lost & found camps at Kumbh Mela

Hi-tech lost and found camps and a team of tech savvy volunteers manning the helpdesks will ensure that people losing contact with their families and groups at Kumbh 2019 are united with them promptly.

ALLAHABAD: Hi-tech lost and found camps and a team of tech savvy volunteers manning the helpdesks will ensure that people losing contact with their families and groups at Kumbh 2019 are united with them promptly.
IG, Allahabad range, Ramit Sharma told TOI, "High-tech lost & found camps would be set up at Kumbh to unite lost or missing people with their families. With the help of volunteers, police would compile and maintain data of missing and recovered persons during the 50-day-long mega religious event." SSP, Kumbh, K P Singh, said "Mela police will set up 12 digital lost & found camps to cover all 20 sectors of mela area".

"While two helpdesks would be working round-the-clock at every lost and found camp on normal days, six helpdesks would be functional on main snan days like Makar Sankranti, Mauni Amavasya and Basant Panchmi," he added. Every helpdesk would have six volunteers, equipped with latest gadgets, who will compile and maintain data of missing and recovered persons everyday.
