CHENNAI: A government high-level committee on Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) has decided to retain the 5% relaxation in marks for candidates belonging to BC, MBC, DNC, SC and ST communities.
The test will be conducted every year, results shall be valid for seven years and the seniority list will be prepared on this, said a state school education department official, who was part of the committee.

This list will be subject to change every year as candidates are given the option of appearing for the test again in subsequent years to improve their scores.
“Certificates of qualified candidates will be scrutinised when appointment orders are issued,” the official added. However there is still no clarity on whether teacher aspirants should take up the competitive test in addition to TET as announced by the government earlier.
