CHENNAI: The
Puducherry unit of the DMK moved the
Madras high court seeking
OBC reservation in medical courses under All
India Quota (AIQ).
Moving the plea on behalf of the party to Madras high court, its Puducherry organising secretary R Siva wanted the court to direct the Centre to implement reservation policy as prevalent in the Union territory in so far as the AIQ seats of UG and PG medical courses.
"The act of the Union government in not implementing the reservation scheme stands against the constitutional mandate and the same deprives the rights of the beneficiary students," the petitioner said
