Stepfather rapes 14-year-old girl, on the run

GHAZIABAD: A 14-year-old girl living in a shanty was allegedly raped by her stepfather on Monday. The accused, a labourer who works in Sardhana of Meerut, is absconding after the crime, police said.
The rape took place in the shanty where the girl lives with her sisters, mother and stepfather. The girl, who is the youngest of three siblings, all of whom are girls, was alone at home when the assault took place.Her mother, a domestic worker, had left for work in some nearby houses early in the morning. The girl narrated her ordeal to her elder sister and mother when they returned home from work.
“A complaint was lodged by the girl’s elder sister. The complainant has alleged that in the past the accused had sexually harassed their eldest sister on several occasions. We are ascertaining the veracity of the allegations of harassment too. Efforts are on to nab the accused,” said SSP Vaibhav Krishna. TNN
