A female candidate was debarred from SDA examination, conducted by Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC), for allegedly using a Bluetooth-connected electronic device in Hubballi on Sunday.

HUBBALLI: A female candidate was debarred from SDA examination, conducted by Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC), for allegedly using a Bluetooth-connected electronic device in Hubballi on Sunday.
S M Hudedamani, block education officer, Hubballi Rural, who is the nodal officer of KPSC examinations in Hubballi, said that Nikhita Kalal from Bagalkot used the device at Durgadevi English MediumSchool, Dajiban Pet.
“When the exams were about to conclude, a candidate sitting next to her informed the invigilator about the usage of device by this candidate. She admitted to keeping the device with her, but said she did not use it. As per the KPSC rules, no candidate can possess any electronic device during the examination. So, we separated her answer sheet and recommended KPSC for further action,” he added.
In Haveri, Ranebennur Rural police arrested a female candidate for malpractice in the KPSC examination. Superintendent of police K Parashuram said that Ashwini Kondajji from Konanakere village, Hanagal taluk, was caught red-handed while using microphone at RTS Degree College. “She used the microphone during the first paper in the morning, but was caught during the second paper in the afternoon,” he said.
