Kondagattu bus mishap: Driver Srinivas was involved in three major accidents
Srinivas(R), the driver of the ill-fated bus was involved in causing a fatal accident on November 12, 2006. He was suspended and removed from the depot on June 29, 2007.
HYDERABAD: The driver of the bus which met with an accident at Kondagattu in which 57 people were killed did not have a good track record. B Srinivas was involved in three major accidents before the accident at Kondagattu, in which the RTC bus fell into a gorge, claimed 57 lives and left many injured.
According to official sources, Srinivas was involved in causing a fatal accident when he was posted at Manthani bus depot on November 12, 2006.
He was suspended and removed from the depot on June 29, 2007.
Srinivas was once again involved in another major accident when he was in Metpally depot on March 28, 2009. He had run over a pedestrian whose legs were injured in the mishap. For this, Srinivas’ increment was reduced for two years.
Once again on May 24, 2013, Srinivas was involved in another major accident. He was suspended from the depot on June 6, 2013 for a period of two years before he got back into service again. On Tuesday (September 11), he was driving the TRSRTC bus AP 28 Z – 2319 on a ghat road and fell nearly 100 metres below. He also died in the mishap.
