SGSITS plans to provide residential facility to 100% PG students

SGSITS plans to provide residential facility to 100% PG students
INDORE: To promote research work among post graduate students, Shri Govindram Seksaria Institute of Technology and Science (SGSITS) plans to provide 100% residential facility for its PG students before the admissions in July.
“We are trying to promote the research work among the post graduate students. We will be providing residential facility to PG students so that they can spend most of their time doing the research work,” said SGSITS director Dr RK Saxena.
The college has 500 post graduate seats.
However, at present around 150 students of PG courses stay on campus hostels, the remaining students live outside.
“Till now we didn’t keep 100 % residential facilities for students. Even our engineering students don’t have full residential facilities,” he said. College is also doing a tie up with two universities- one in Florida and the other in Singapore for the post graduate students.
The students will do the first year of PG course at SGSITS and they will do the remaining studies including the project work at either of the two universities that the college has planned to tie up with.
“We have decided to tie up with the University of Singapore as well because it would require less funding and it will be affordable even to middle class students who might find going and studying at Florida expensive,” said Saxena.
While the standard of both the universities is equivalent, flight tickets and expenditures in Singapore would be less as compared to Florida.
At present the number of students that will be sent have not been decided, it will be after signing the memorandum of understanding (MoU) that the college will decide the number of students to be sent in particular branch, he said.
