‘Suptd threatened to mix poison in our food’

BARWANI: Eighty students of Kasturba Gandhi Kanya Chhatrawas reached Niwali police station on Thursday to lodge complaint of atrocity against their hostel superintendent and her husband and son. On their complaint, the hostel superintendent was removed from her post and a probe was ordered.
The students aged between 9 and 11 years told police that the hostel superintendent Rami Kirade and her husband and son used to make them do chores.
They also used to beat and scold them. Recently, they threatened to kill them by mixing poison in their food if they don’t give to their demands.
A team of Nilwali police officials reached the spot to look into the matter, tribal affairs assistant commissioner Vivek Kumar Pandey told TOI.
Pandey said that the team found the complaint of students true after which the hostel superintendent was immediately removed.
The report of inquiry team is being forwarded to district collector and a notice will be served to Kasturba Gandhi Trust, Indore, director Pushpa Sinha, the assistant commissioner said.
After receiving information about the children at police station, local MLA Chandrabhaga Kirade also reached the hostel and instructed officials to take strict action against the accused.
