MiG 27 aircraft crashes in Jodhpur; no casualty reported

JODHPUR: A MiG-27 aircraft of the IAF crashed near Deolia Kalan village in Jodhpur on Tuesday, with the pilot ejecting safely.
The aircraft had taken off from the IAF's Jodhpur airbase.
"A MiG-27 aircraft airborne from Jodhpur crashed during a routine mission today morning. The pilot ejected safely. A Court of Inquiry will investigate the cause of the incident," he said.
Deputy Commissioner, Jodhpur, Amandeep Singh said no loss of life has been reported in the crash.

Fire brigade and police officials have reached the spot, a senior officer said.
The area has been cordoned off.
Champalal Bishnoi, an eye witness, talking to TOI over phone, said, "I was at farm when I heard an explosion like sound. A plane was grounded and was on fire. At a distance, pilots were found safe."
According to him the incident took place at 9 am on Tuesday.
