Cial floats tender for utility vehicle
KOCHI: Cochin International Airport Ltd(Cial) has floated a tender for a new mobile command post vehicle, which will be the operations centre in case of an emergency at the airport.
The vehicle which will be purchased by Cial for around Rs 2 crore will include a conference table, CCTV cameras, pneumatic telescopic mounted thermal cameras and lockers. “During an emergency, airport director will guide all security operations from mobile command post,” said Cial official.
The vehicle will have a chassis of a reputable company. The special utility vehicle must have a minimum 20 KVA power generator, LED mast flood lights, 5 KVA UPS, a conference room, a retractable canopy, beacon lights, video conferencing facilities, real-time video streaming, a camera mounted on a pneumatically operated mast of sufficient height and LED television video wall along with other requirements.
The driver’s compartment must be modified to be resistant against noise, vibrations, and high temperatures. Furthermore, the window of the vehicle will be modified into the single window o allow viewing from inside the vehicle.
As per the tender requirement, the applicant must have minimum five years’ experience in handling and making of such special utility vehicles and must have completed a single order for such vehicles worth atleast Rs 2 crore for the use of any of the international airport or a government agency in the last seven years. The tender applicant is also required to train Cial staff to operate the special utility vehicle.
