KOCHI: When
parrots develop affection for people, it is quite difficult for anyone to erase the memory they have of their past or real owners.
In one such case, a parrot helped the city police trace three thieves.
The
African Gray parrot was owned by Satheesh, a pet shop owner at Kaloor in Kochi. Recently, two
African Gray parrots, one Persian cat and two cocktail birds were missing from his shop since last Saturday.
After Satheesh informed the police, they came to his shop and checked the CCTV cameras. Afterwards, some local residents from Elammakara near Kaloor also reached the police station on Monday and told the cops about the parrots, adding one of them was crying like a baby and was repeating two names - that of Satheesh and Sandhya.
Police reached the place and checked the parrots and found that parrots were actually taking the shop owner's name and that of his wife.
Soon, police arrested three persons from that house in Elammakara and also recovered the Persian cat and cocktail birds from there.
