KOZHIKODE: The Indian Institute of Management,
Kozhikode (
IIM-K) has reduced the fee for its Executive Post Graduate Programme (EPGP) at its
Kochi campus by Rs two lakhs as a solidarity measure in the light of the recent floods in the state.
The applicants for the EPGP batch of 2018- 2020 at the Kochi campus will be eligible for the fee cut, IIM-K authorities said here
on Wednesday.
It said that the decision has been taken as a substantial number of the aspirants for the EPGP programme at Kochi campus hail from Ernakulum,
Thrissur and
Thiruvananthapuram districts, which are among the places predominantly affected by the recent deluge.
According to IIM-K officials, the fee has been reduced from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 8 lakh.
"In the month of August, the unprecedented rains created havoc among the citizens and the economy of Kerala. The institute has been directly and indirectly involved in rebuilding
Kerala in collaboration with the students and the alumni. As a proactive measure to alleviate the pain, IIM-K has trimmed down the fees by Rs Two lakhs," Prof Debashis Chatterjee, director at IIM-K said in a press release.
