Kerala floods: One more leptospirosis death reported in Kozhikode

Kozhikode: One more person died of leptospirosis in Kozhikode on Wednesday taking the toll of total confirmed deaths due to the desease to eight.
The district also reported four confirmed and eight suspected leptospirosis cases during the day.
The deceased has been identified as Chinnammu (86), hailing from Kadalundi.
The confirmed cases were reported from the limits of Kuthiravattom and Kovur in the limits of Kozhikode corporation and Kuruvattur grama panchayat.

With this, the total number of confirmed leptospirosis cases rose to 147 from August 1 to September 12. The number of suspected leptospirosis cases increased to 322 with the reporting of eight more suspected cases. the district so far has reported 21 deaths which include eight confirmed and 12 suspected cases.
The district also reported six confirmed and two suspected dengue cases on Wednesday. The confirmed six dengue cases were reported from the limits of Nellikode, Kallai, Perumanna, Azhiyur, Thalakalathur and Kuttiyadi. A total of 1338 persons with fever symptoms were approached for treatment at the various outpatient units of government and private hospitals on the day.
