ALLAHABAD/LUCKNOW: It was a big day for Jaijeet Kaur Hora, topper of
PCS-2016, and her husband Ashutosh Mishra as both tasted success in the exam for which they had left lucrative jobs in a prominent IT firm in Mumbai five years ago to enter administrative services. The BTech, MBA couple worked in IT sector from 2010 to 2015.
Jaijeet, 32, who belongs to Kanpur, lives with her husband in Lucknow.
She has been selected as deputy collector, while her husband would join as assistant commissioner in cooperatives.
PCS-2016 result was declared on Friday. “We worked in IT sector but did not get job satisfaction. My sister-in-law cleared PCS-2012 which motivated us,” she told TOI. “We did not join any coaching. Our joint study proved fruitful as we helped each other in overcoming our weaknesses. Since I had quit my job and was a homemaker, the interview panel members asked me if I would be able to handle a crisis. I said a woman who handles a household can handle any crisis,” she added.
“We also appeared in PCS (mains)-2017. I will again appear in interview,” said Ashutosh.
Many candidates from Lucknow also cleared the exam. Pankaj Prakash Rathore got selected as SDM. “ Determination and continuous hardwork helped me succeed,” he said. Vipin Tiwari, who is already serving as assistant commissioner, commercial taxes, was elated on getting selected as deputy SP.
Ashish Bhaskar who bagged the post of sub-registrar said online blogs and e-learning helped him.
