LUCKNOW: The state government on Friday directed the Samajwadi Party to vacate its youth wing’s office by Saturday. The office of SP Yuvjan Sabha is located on Lal Bahadur Shastri Marg in Lucknow. Sources in the estate department sources said a notice had already been served in this regard.
Interestingly, the office of SP Yuvjan Sabha is situated next to the bungalow of former SP leader Shivpal Yadav, who has now floated a new party — Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party (Lohia).

While UP estate officer Yogesh Shukla was not available for comment, sources in the estate department said the allotment was cancelled following the Supreme Court order of August 2016 which disallowed allocation of government accommodation to party offices and former UP CMs.
The estate department had subsequently framed rules following which the allocation of SP’s youth wing office was cancelled. However, the then SP government in Uttar Pradesh had amended the Estate Department Act and allowed former UP CMs and party offices to occupy government bungalows indefinitely.
“There was also no fresh application to get the allotment renewed,” said an official in the estate department.
The directive was issued a day after the estate department allotted a bungalow to SBSP MLA Triveni Ram in posh Raj Bhawan colony.
Sources said the estate department had also got the office of UP BJP women’s wing in OCR building vacated after SC order.
