Yuva Sena chief Aaditya Thackeray has sacked the organisation’s workers who assaulted Kashmiri students in Yavatmal on Wednesday. The main accused, Ajinkya Motke, has been sent to 14 days magisterial custody while his three aides have got bail.
Kashmiri students from Dayabhai Patel Physical Education College were assaulted and verbally abused near their rented accommodation by activists of Yuva Sena, youth wing of Shiv Sena, in the aftermath of the Pulwama attack.

Expressing his ire on Twitter on Friday, Aaditya said the Sena had issued a press note and taken disciplinary action on Thursday itself. “As of Thursday evening, the party has sacked those involved in the act. J&K is a part of India and no Indian, or for that matter, nobody should face the brunt of anger that is towards terrorism. We understand the angst but it must be against terror, not innocent people,” he wrote.
The Yuva Sena activists had asked the students to vacate their rooms and return to Kashmir in four days. They were warned that if returned, they would be killed. Some colony residents had come to the rescue of the Kashmiri students. The video of the attack has gone viral on social media.
