BMC budget gets panel nod

MUMBAI: The 2019-20 BMC budget was passed by the civic standing committee on Friday with an amendment of Rs 450 crore. The Rs 450 crore will be distributed to corporators, mayor and political parties for development works in all wards. On February 4, the BMC commissioner tabled a Rs 30,692.59-crore budget. The standing committee can pass the budget till March but with the sword of code of conduct hanging on its head, panel members chose to clear it at the earliest.
