MUMBAI: To bring about transparency in universities’ proceedings, the state government has made it mandatory to audio record meetings (including senate, management and academic council). The recordings must be kept for preparing minutes and can be sought by students and other stakeholders.
The government streamlined conduct of meetings under public universities to discuss curriculum, exams, policies with new statutes on conduct of meetings released on Friday.
Most universities followed their own schedules and statutes, but the regulations have brought in uniformity.
