NDCCB staffers go on strike over pay issues

NDCCB staffers go on strike over pay issues
Nagpur: Employees of Nagpur District Central Cooperative Bank (NDCCB) have decided to go on strike with immediate effect due to pending pay related issues. Employees say their annual salary hike has been put on hold since July 2014 while their dearness allowance has stopped since May 2015.
Chandrakant Rothe, general secretary of Maharashtra State Cooperative Bank Employees Union (Nagpur), said, “We had met with the chief minister Devendra Fadnavis this year in May and August.
He had issued instructions to the principal secretary (cooperatives) to take necessary steps for resolving our issue. But at the local level there some people who are not keen on finding a resolution.”
The union issued a statement in which they mentioned how certain board members were trying to sabotage reconciliatory talks between employees and management.
The statement mentioned, “On August 27 we met with NDCCB’s CEO Tejal Korde who said that she will speak with board members. The very next day a meeting took place at the CEO’s office but union members were ignored. It has come to our knowledge that two members of the board have taken a stand to not have any talks with union members. So it has to be concluded that some people in the board are simply not interested in finding a solution to the current problem.”
Union members say they will continue their strike till a solution is found and all their demands related to pay have been accepted.
