NMC gets Rs 6 crore for 150 digital classrooms

NAGPUR: The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has received Rs6 crore from the state government for converting 150 classrooms into digital.
Chairman of NMC education consultative committee, Dilip Diwe, informed about the approval in the meeting held on Friday. Diwe said guardian minister Chandrashekar Bawankule has approved the funds and works will begin soon. “NMC will continue to distribute school uniforms and books to students of NMC schools in the upcoming academic year.
Project to facilitate bicycles to NMC students will also continue,” he said.
The committee held discussion with education department to convert Std V to Std X into semi-English medium.
Education officer Sandhya Medpalliwar submitted a proposal before the committee to appoint teachers on hourly basis from upcoming academic session.
