NMC to open Potoba restaurant in each ward
Mayor Nanda Jichkar and chef Vishu Manohar inaugurated the first Potoba restaurant at NMC head office in Civil Lines on Friday
NAGPUR: The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) on Friday dedicated Potoba — a restaurant made of bamboos — to public at its head office in Civil Lines. The civic body will open 37 more such restaurants, one in each ward, in the coming days.
Mayor Nanda Jichkar and chef Vishu Manohar inaugurated the restaurant. Appreciating the project, they said people will get tasty and healthy food through such Potobas. Also, the project will help in providing self-employment to women, they said.
The NMC’s women and child welfare committee headed by Pragati Patil and deputy municipal commissioner Ranjana Lade has planned the project.
Women self-help-group will be selected through lucky draw for running the restaurants.
Leader of opposition in NMC Tanaji Wanve, additional municipal commissioner Aziz Sheikh, corporators Divya Dhurde, Rashmi Dhurve, Mangala Khekre, Sneha Nikose and others were present.
