Traffic cops fine 2,275 violators on Day 2 of drive

NAGPUR: The Nagpur traffic police led by deputy commissioner of police Raj Tilak Roushan on Wednesday — the second day of its Operation Surgical Strike (OSS) — penalized 2,275 motorists across the city roads.
At Wadi point, MIDC zone’s senior PI Ravindra Kshirsagar issued challans to 510 violators, followed by 578 actions in Ashok Chowk and Agrasen Square in Cotton Market zone.
In Indora zone, wherein highest numbers of challans were issued on Tuesday, saw minimal violations. Here, the traffic cops challaned 382 violators.
Similarly, 326 violators were penalized by Ajni zone, 170 (Sadar zone), 167 (Sitabuldi zone) and 142 (Sonegaon).
At Law College Square, Police commissioner Bhushankumar Upadhyay appreciated the drive and volunteers of Road Safety Patrol. The CP also stressed need to install public address systems for traffic police at busy intersections.
