PUNE: After a bad civic election experience in 2017 when they could not vote, Dinesh Agarwal and his wife Radha stepped out to vote early on Tuesday. But, this time too, someone had cast votes in their names.
The Agarwal couple first cast ‘tender votes’ and then went to the Market Yard police station to lodge an FIR. A voter, who finds that his vote has already been cast, is entitled to cast a tender vote.

When contacted, Agarwal, a resident of Gangadham in Market Yard said, “We got our voting slips and entered booth No 287. To our surprise, the polling officer told us that someone had already cast votes in our names. I was shocked as this was happening for the second time,” Agarwal said.
The polling officer told him that the person had shown a driving licence as identity proof and cast his vote.
