RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh police welfare committee submitted a report for resolving issues of police personnel.
The committee was constituted on December 31, 2018 to study the 17 point charter of demands of families of police personnel due to which a state wide agitation was demonstrated last year.
Soon after assuming charge of Chhattisgarh director general of police (DGP), DM Awasthi had constituted a four-member committee for finding out the problems faced by policemen in the state and make recommendations for their redressal.

The committee was headed by DIG (CID) Neha Champawat.
The committee, since its formation, sought details of various problems being faced by policemen from district forces, units of armed forces, training centres and other associated units.
The committee also sought suggestions and recommendations from all these units. The committee has prepared an exhaustive report, along with the recommendations that can be implemented for redressing them.
The committee since its constitution had interacted with the representatives of police personnel posted in 27 districts, all units of Chhattisgarh armed force, training centres and other units.

On the basis of these suggestions, DIG, Neha Champawat, who chaired the committee, prepared her recommendations and submitted reports to DGP DM Awasthi.
The committee was due to submit its report latest by January 31 but it submitted the report on January 16.
Present during the submission were DIG Dr Sanjeev Shukla, Kawardha superintendent of police (SP) Dr Lal Umed Singh, superintendent of police SIB D Ravishankar and additional superintendent of police BS Chauhan.
