SURAT: Two Nepali nationals were caught while trying to board a flight to
Sharjah from
Surat airport on Monday with forged NOC and other papers of
Nepal embassy in Delhi. The accused man and woman were arrested by police in Dumas police station on Tuesday after preliminary investigation.
Bimla Rai Narayan Das, 40, and Parajuli Ishwar Padma Prasad, 25, were initially detained by immigration staff at Surat airport on Monday night when they produced forged NOC and other papers of the embassy.
They could not give satisfactory reply to immigration staff hence they were later handed over to Dumas police station for further investigation.
They were booked under various sections of
Indian Penal Code including criminal breach of trust, cheating and forgery among other. After preliminary investigation the accused were arrested on Tuesday evening. Police investigation so far revealed that the accused produced forged NOC to go to Sharjah. “It is yet not clear that for what reasons the accused used forged NOC of Nepal Embassy. We are yet to find out that under what circumstances they did not try to get original NOC,” said an officer at Dumas police station.
Police will seek their custody for further investigation after producing them in court on Wednesday. Parajuli is resident of Palan Chowk while Bimla is resident of Lalitpur both in Nepal.
