Minor raped in Panchmahal, survivor’s kin beat up accused

Vadodara: A 15-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a youth from a different community in the Morva Hadaf taluka of Panchmahal district. The accused in the case were later beaten up by the relatives of the minor survivor.
The girl residing in the Kuvajhar village of the Morva taluka was allegedly taken by two youths Sunil Patel and Mukesh Ravat on a motorcycle.Patel allegedly raped the girl at the Khudra village in the taluka.
The girl’s mother registered an offence regarding the incident stating that when she woke up late on Monday night, she did not find the girl on her bed. The girl’s family and other persons staying near her residence started looking for her. The mother has stated that the girl returned home at around 3.30am on Tuesday. An offence was, however, registered by the girl’s mother only on Tuesday night.
The girl told her parents that she had gone out of the home to relieve herself when Patel and Ravat abducted her. She claimed that they took her to Khudra where Patel raped her. They allegedly dropped her back at her residence threatening her with dire consequences if she mentioned the incident to anyone.
Ravat also registered an offence alleging that eight persons including the girl’s father had intercepted him and Patel early morning on Tuesday when they were passing near the girl’s village. He claimed that the father alleged that Patel had an affair with the girl and started beating them up. Patel escaped from the place while Ravat was admitted to the Godhra civil hospital due to the injuries he sustained.
Police officials said that Patel was still on the run and could not be traced. Ravat had not been arrested as he was still hospitalised.
