Presenting Kailasa, a series on Shiva
An art exhibition Kailasa , featuring exuberant collection of paintings was conducted by Mrinal Dutt and Neeharika Naidu at Swaraj Bhawan recently. The paintings exhibited were of Shiva, Ganpati and Parvati focussing on Shivling and related Mythology. Each and every canvas had a different story to share. The artists have worked well with colours and have brought a wide array of colour combinations to the canvas.
Both the artists have displayed their best masterpieces, while Mrinal Dutt has a vairty to display in mythology, Neehrika Naidu had exhibited both landscapes and Shiva.

When asked about his series Kailasa, Mrinal Dutt shared his love and interest for mythology with us. “I mostly do abstract and contemperory. This is a series which is on Shivling as it is the most powerful figure in Hinduism. Moreover I wanted to make it in a differnet way by either portraying Parvati, Ganpati or ancient archirtecture, temples and shlokas written on it. I keep on studying about shivlings. Its just a subject that interests me the most, I always try and tell different stories through my canvas and one can see by placements and positions of characters on my canvas.”

Neeharika Naidu began painting a year ago, in her late sixties and its still hard to believe by looking at the finesse in her paintings. She does landscapes and mythology. “ I am a novice, its only a year since I began painting. For now I am just trying my hands on landscape and mythology. I am still to discover what would I settle with. I enjoy colours and that is the primary reason for me to start painting.”
