Gyaan Adab organises a session on jazz music
Gyaan Adab in association with Pune Jazz and Blues Club hosted For the Love of Jazz - Jazz and the Indian Connection. Ashwin Panemangalore presented an AV with music tracks to show how Jazz and Indian classical musicians found common ground in their quest for creation they innovation It started with Ravi Shankar in the 60s when he wove Indian ragas and rhythms into the jazz environment and was followed by John Mayers sensational Indo jazz double quintet.

Other exciting illustrations were the work of Charlie Mariano saxophonist with the Karnataka college of percussion, John McLaughlins Shakti’ Louis Banks ‘Sangam', the forays of American Indian jazz-man Rudresh Mahanthappa and Zakir Hussain’s most recent sextet ‘Crosscurrents’ with bassist Dave Holland tenor player Chris Potter.
