'Paltan' box office collection day 1: J P Dutta's war drama collects Rs 1.25 crore
With 'Paltan', J P Dutta is back with what he does best, making war dramas.
Since the announcement, the film has been the talk of the town.

It has finally hit the theatres this Friday and has received a lukewarm response.
The first day collection of the film is Rs 1.25 crore. Reportedly, his first war film 'Border' had also collected almost the same amount when it was released in the year 1997.

The film stars Arjun Rampal, Jackie Shroff, Sonu Sood, Harshvardhan Rane, Gurmeet Choudhary, Siddhant Kapoor, Luv Sinha, Esha Gupta, Sonal Chauhan, Dipika Kakkar and Monica Gill. The film is based on the 1967 Nathu La and Cho La clashes along the Sikkim border after 1962 Sino-Indian War.

Initially, Abhishek Bachchan was also the part of film's cast, however, things didn't work out for him so he backed out from the project. When the director was asked about the same recently, he said that the wound still fresh so it is too early to comment on it.
The music of the film is given by none other than Anu Malik.
The film's release clashed with Imtiaz Ali's 'Laila Majnu'.
