Sadness and shock took over all film lovers on February 25 as India lost one of its gem kind of actresses, the Bollywood icon Sridevi. The south-Indian beauty was loved by millions as she carved her niche in the industry with blockbuster films like Chandni, Himmatwala and Mr. India. Sridevi died of a massive cardiac arrest in Dubai, where she had gone to attend the wedding of relative Mohit Marwah.
With a filmography of close to 300 movies in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam, she had personified herself as a leading lady and a box-office magnet from the 1970s to late 1990s.
The 54-year-old had returned to the silver screen after a brief time-period six years ago with English Vinglish and worked in three films since then.
