‘Hyderabad is lucky for us’

‘Hyderabad is lucky for us’
It’s obvious that Arpita Khan loves Hyderabad. Which is why, her bhai, Salman Khan got her hitched to the love of her life, Aayush Sharma at the historic Falaknuma Palace on November 18, 2014. Four years on, the couple returned to the city of Nizams, this time to ring in Arpita’s birthday. Admittedly, it was Aayush who decided to make his beloved wife’s landmark birthday (she turned 30 on August 3) extra special by ringing it in at the same place they exchanged their wedding wows.
And Arpita is overjoyed. “Hyderabad has a very special place in our hearts, not just because we got married here; we believe the city has been very lucky for us. So to come back and celebrate my birthday at the very same beautiful palace we got married in, feels surreal,” says Arpita, smiling.
Aayush nods in agreement saying, “It’s Arpita’s 30th birthday so I thought what better way to make it extra special than by celebrating it in the city which is close to our hearts — Hyderabad. And we are both overwhelmed, reliving memories of our wedding. It feels like it was just the other day that we got married and it’s hard to believe that soon we’ll be completing four years of our wedding. How time flies!”
The couple landed in Hyderabad on Wednesday, accompanied by their son Ahil and an entourage of family members and close friends. Celebrations kick-started with a small get-together on Wednesday evening. It was followed by a lunch do on Thursday. Aayush had planned another special surprise for his lady love in the evening.
“We had a sit down dinner and as soon as the clock struck 12, special fireworks erupted in the sky to ring in Arpita’s birthday. Salman bhai couldn’t make it as he was shooting for his next film, so I had gotten a special b’day video message from him for Arpita. I sang a romantic song for her from my upcoming debut film Loveratri and we partied hard till late night. On Friday, we just chilled,” revealed Aayush.
The couple also took out time to explore the city and gorge on some Hyderabadi cuisine before they few back to Bombay on Saturday. “This is my second visit to Hyderabad and I finally got to see Charminar this time. We also gorged on some Hyderabadi chicken biryani which is our favourite. In fact Ahil too enjoyed the short trip,” he says.
Well, Aayush definitely made sure Arpita had a memorable 30th birthday.
