PUNE: A short course titled
Biostatistics: a user's
perspective will be conducted by Indian Institute of
Science, Education and Research (IISER) under
IISER Pune Short Term Courses programme.
The application forms have been open since August 23 and will close on September 15. The venue of the course is IISER-Pune and the course will be held between December 28 and 30. The students need to apply online and the application is free of cost.
The age of applicant must be above 18 years as on December 28, 2018.
The three-day long intensive course on Biostatistics will involve both classroom teaching and hands-on training sessions for the participants. The participants completing the course will receive a certificate of participation from IISER-Pune.
‘Primary focus of this course will be on basic statistical analysis and interpretation of biological data. The amount of
mathematics involved will be minimal and the focus will be application-oriented, i.e. on getting the job done without necessarily understanding every gears and wheels clicking under the hood,’ said the official website.
The candidates will be selected for this course on first come first serve basis. Once the candidates are selected, they need to pay course fees to confirm their selection and registration for the short term course.
