ALLAHABAD: After a year's gap, Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) is expected to issue notification for filling the vacant posts of 330 civil judges across the state in August. The UP Judicial Service Civil Judges (Junior Division) exams will be in three stages: preliminary, mains and interview. At least 89 posts of the total are reserved for OBCs, 69 for SCs and six for STs.
A commission official said, "The Allahabad high court had sent a letter to the additional chief secretary, department of appointment and personnel (DoAP), Deepak Trivedi intimating him about the number of civil judges required across the state.
Following it, the requisition was forwarded to the UPPSC for filing the posts."
The exam, also known as Provincial Civil Services (Judicial), was not mentioned in the six-month recruitment examination calendar issued by the Commission in June.
Secretary, UPPSC, Jagdish said, "the notification for the exam is expected to be issued in August."
UPPSC issues the notification within two weeks after receiving the requisition, but the delay was due to lack of manpower and resource in handling the exam.
National Informatics Centre, which will be entrusted with handling the exams, is already busy in conducting two big exams - LT Grade Teachers Exams and PCS-2018 - so it has been decided to take out the advertisement in August, said the secretary. PCS (Prelims)-2018 was recently held while the LT grade exam is being conducted to fill around 10,000 vacancies across the state.
