NEW DELHI: “Once BJP wins the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, no one can throw us (BJP) out in 50 years,” BJP chief Amit Shah told the party on Sunday at the national executive meeting here on Sunday, as BJP goes into the campaign mode for the slew of assembly elections coming up later this year to be followed by the general elections next year.
BJP will win the 2019 polls on the basis of its performance and his assertion was not borne out of any arrogance, Union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad quoted Shah as having said at the national executive on Sunday.

“Shah told party workers that BJP will win the 2019 elections because of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's hard work… then no one can dethrone the party for the next 50 years,” Prasad quoted Shah as having said.
Referring to main rival the Congress, Shah said, the party had first formed government in 1947 and remained in power till 1967, indicating it was BJP turn to repeat a similar feat now that the ruling party has the capacity to do it.
On Sunday Prasad said, BJP has a “corpus of 9 crore workers,” which means it is in touch with 36-40 crore people. “We need to reach out to 21 crore families across the country, which means we will eventually reach out to more than 110 crore people in the country... in a way we will almost cover the entire population of the country,” Shah told the executive.
Complimenting Prime Minister Modi for his tenure from 2014, Shah said as
Gujarat chief minister he won his first poll in 2001 and he has never lost an election since then because of the good work that he has done. “Shah told party workers that BJP will win the 2019 elections because of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's hard work and then no one can dethrone the party for the next 50 years,” Prasad informed.
Modi has visited 300 Lok Sabha constituencies since 2014 and will cover the remaining parliamentary constituencies before the next general polls.
Underlining that the country has now moved towards politics of performance, Shah said BJP never relaxed even after assuming power in 2014. “Politics of the county is now progressing towards performance and hope,” Shah said at the meet.
