Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated by Hindus in all across India and abroad with a lot of enthusiasm.
It is a ten-day
festival where devotees worship Lord Ganesha, also known as 'Vinayaka Chavithi'. Lord
Ganesha is worshipped all over the country as the God of wisdom, prosperity and good fortune.
This year, the Ganesh Chaturthi festival begins on August 22, 2022 and will be completed on 10th day i.e.
September 1, 2022
Many devotees keep fast for 10-days - few would do nirajal vrat (waterless fast) while some prefer phalahar vrat. The devotees would get up early in the morning for a bath, wear fresh clothes and worship the Lord Ganesha idol with morning and evening aartis, mantras. The sweets and fruits are offered to the Lord Ganesha and later the same is distributed as prasad.
On the 10th day of the festival, also known as Ganesh Visarjan, devotees would take the idol of Lord Ganesha for immersion in a river or sea.
During the Ganesh Chaturthi pooja, devotees would recite and listen to the Ganesh Chaturthi Vratha Katha and Ganesh aarthi.
