India vs Australia: Yuzvendra Chahal hits Aussies with a 'six'

Chahal, who registered the joint sixth-best bowling performance by an Indian in one-day international cricket, made a great comeback to the format after captain Virat Kohli decided to make three changes to India's playing XI. He took career-best 6/42 as India dismissed the hosts for 230 in 48.4 overs in the third and deciding ODI of the three-match series in Melbourne.

NEW DELHI: Yuzvendra Chahal on Friday bamboozled Australia with his leg-spin, taking career-best 6/42 as India dismissed the hosts for 230 in 48.4 overs in the third and deciding ODI of the three-match series in Melbourne.
Chahal, who registered the joint sixth-best bowling performance by an Indian in one-day international cricket, made a great comeback to the format after captain Virat Kohli decided to make three changes to India's playing XI.

While allrounder Vijay Shankar was awarded an ODI debut, Chahal replaced Kuldeep Yadav, who was rested for the match. Kedar Jadhav was the third change in the Indian side, replacing Ambati Rayudu.
Chahal, incidentally, now also holds the joint best figures (6/42) in ODIs in Australia. Ajit Agarkar also took 6/42 against Australia in 2004.

After being asked to bat first by Kohli, Australia slipped from 100/2 to 230 all out, with Chahal taking six of the last eight wickets to fall.
Chahal's performance earned a him a lot of praise from the cricket fraternity.






Before the ODI series, India had defeated Australia 2-1 in the Test series, which was also their first ever Test series triumph on Aussie soil.
