4. Is Virat Kohli India's best batsman of all time?
Virat Kohli is on top of theICC Player Rankings for Test Batsmen, riding on his brilliant century against England in the opening Test at Edgbaston.- He is the seventh Indian batsman (after Tendulkar, Dravid, Gambhir, Gavaskar, Sehwag and Vengsarkar) to be ranked on top. However, at 934 points, he is India's highest-ranked batsman, 14th overall, on the all-time tally of points.
- A couple of good knocks could push him into the top-10 by leapfrogging Matthew Hayden, Kallis and AB de Villiers (at 935 points each).
Donald Bradman (961) and Steve Smith (947) are the two batsmen sitting on top of this exclusive list. - Kohli is also the number-one ranked ODI batsman. T20s seems to be his only challenge where he is ranked 12th, 220 points behind number-one ranked Aaron Finch of Australia.
Meanwhile, another contender for the “greatest Indian of all time”, PV Sindhu, lost to World No.1 Carolina Marin in the Badminton World Championships final, settling for her second consecutive silver medal. Sindhu also holds an Olympic silver medal. (All three finals were lost to Marin)
