CLAIM
The official Twitter handle of Bhartiya Janta Yuva Morcha (BJYM) accused the Youth Congress of “spreading fake news” by showing parts of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) in Pakistan’s map.

In a tweet targeting Prime Minister Modi’s Pakistan’s policy, the Twitter account of Youth Congress shared a map of Pakistan and claimed that the neighbouring nation was silently increasing its warheads, which currently stands at 150, 40 more than India.


VIRALITY
Many Twitter users followed suit and accused the Youth Congress of showing Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) as a part of Pakistan.

METHODOLOGY
We used the actual maps of both India and Pakistan, and added PoK territory to Pakistan’s map. The map we got after adding PoK to Pakistan’s map turned out to be the Youth Congress’ version of the Pakistan map.
VERDICT
The claim made by BJP's youth wing that the Youth Congress tweeted a map showing PoK in Pakistan’s map, is true.
